Need Him: Finding God

John 14:1-6
1"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." 2"In my Father's house are many mansion: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." 3"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." 4"And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know." 5"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?" 6"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Something is not complete between you and God, but you are not sure what you are missing. Perhaps you have had these thoughts:
I try to live a good life
I try to be a good person
I obey the Ten Commandments (mostly)
I am nice and don't steal or kill.

You are good person. You try to be the best you can be, try to do what is right most of the time and try to do more good thing than bad. So why do you still feel this void?

You may even have tried more drastic ways of dulling your pain. Pain can be drinking, buying new things, going to fun places, meeting the right crowd, etc.. whatever you called it.

And for all this trying, there is still something missing. So what do you try next?

Transformation

What does the Bible say about Transformation?  I found a good verse that defined of Transformation. "Change or renewal from a life that no longer conforms to the ways of the world to one that pleases God" (Romans 12:2). How do we know that a person who is transformed from Darkness to Light? The evidence of transformation within us is seen in the way we increasingly contemplate the identicalness and glory of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). if your body is controlled by the Spirit of God lives in you, then you are controlled NOT by the sinful nature. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, He does not belong to Christ (Romans 8:9). How can we be considered as children of God? We must be led by the Spirit of God. And it is through the power of God's Spirit that Jesus Christ lives within us. For instance of Transformed life mirrors the attitude of the apostle Paul: " I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live , but Christ lives in me. The life I...

Children of Light

"You, brethren, are not in darkness...You are all sons of light." 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 The Born-again Christian sees life not as a blurred, confused, meaningless mass, but as something planned and purposeful. His eyes have been opened to spiritual truth. Jesus said that one of the reason He had come to earth was to preach "recovery of sight to the blind" (Luke 4:18). By nature we are all spiritually blind because of sin. But the Spirit of God helps us see our sin and our helplessness and show us God's redeeming grace in Christ. The Spirit reveals the truth of Jesus declaration: "I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life" (John 8:12). We are no longer in the dark-we know where we came from, we know why we are here, and we know where we are going. In the midst of a world living in spiritual darkness, walk as a child of the light!

How can we trust God when we are facing Unemployment, Foreclosure or Bankruptcy?

The loss of employment or income is one of the most distressing events in life, especially for those supporting a family. Man or Woman facing unemployment, foreclosure or bankruptcy, there can be additional doubts about God's goodness and His promises to provide for His children. How are the people to react to these catastrophic life events? What Biblical principles can we apply to the loss of a home or a job and benefits. Work is described in the Bible as beneficial in that it provides for our needs; Proverbs 14:23; Ecclesiastes 2:24, 3:13, 5:18-19 and gives us the resources to share with other in need Ephesians 4:28 . At the same time, it may not be possible to find a positioin equal in pay and status to the one that was lost. In these cases, Christian should not allow pride to keep them from taking jobs in other fields, even if it means lowered status or less pay, at least temporarily. We should lso be willing to accept help from other believers and our churches, perhaps in e...
